Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support sterilization, assembly and storage of surgical instruments. You will work with Perioperative staff to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts with accuracy and timeliness.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and either CST certification or 3 years of Central Sterile experience. Advanced certifications such as CCST or CST are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech required.
• 3 years Central Sterile experience required or CST certificate.
• CCST or CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for sterilization, assembly and storage of instruments.
• Performs sterilization and prepares instrument sets in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide case carts and sets.
• Delivers superior customer service and supports workflow.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
