Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support our surgical teams. You will ensure sterilization, decontamination and assembly of instrument sets, maintaining strict standards and timely availability across units.

You will collaborate with Perioperative Nursing to provide instrument sets and case carts, uphold sterility, and contribute to a smooth operating room workflow focused on patient care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program is required.
• If CST certificate is not held, 3 years of Central Sterile experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner.
• Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Education

H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required

In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
