Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare seeks a Central Sterile Technician to support sterile processing at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Georgia. You will ensure instrument sets are decontaminated, assembled, and stored accurately to enable timely surgeries.

Work closely with Perioperative Nursing, uphold standards, and help maintain smooth case cart flow while providing reliable service. Education options include a GED or CST-related training, with CST credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program or CST experience.
• 3 years Central Sterile experience alternative acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for sterile instrument sets and sterilization.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of supplies.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide case carts promptly.
• Supports workflow continuity and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
