Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to ensure proper sterilization and assembly of surgical instruments. You will work with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile sets and case carts, supporting efficient, timely procedures.

The position requires education in central sterile techniques and experience; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential in this role within the Piedmont system.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Assists in maintaining a consistent workflow and delivers superior customer service.

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
