Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to join the sterile supply team. You will sterilize, assemble and store medical instruments and collaborate with perioperative staff to ensure timely case carts and instrument sets for procedures.

The role requires CST certification or Central Sterile training with relevant experience and a strong focus on accuracy and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program or CST experience if not certified.
• 3 years of Central Sterile experience required if no CST certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Supports workflow and delivers high level customer service.

Responsibilities:

Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner. Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
