Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, seeks a Central Sterile Technician to join its award-winning team. This part-time role (32 hours/week) covers 11:00am–7:30pm, with dayshift duties focused on decontamination, preparation and sterilization of trays and instruments, and accurate inventory control.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of Central Sterile Technician experience.
• Central Supply Certified certification preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.

• Decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize central sterile trays, instruments, and equipment.
• Manage inventory and restock supplies; perform computer data entry and batching of patient charge cards.

Responsibilities

The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.

2. At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required; in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

3. Central Supply Certified certification, preferred.

4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
