Job summary

Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, RI, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for part-time evenings (24 hours/week). Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will aid patients with daily living, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and EKG tasks, and maintain accurate records while supporting a safe care environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS, and preferred phlebotomy/EKG certifications with Rhode Island CNA licensure.

Qualifications

• 1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2. Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• 3. EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• 4. BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• 5. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• 6. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• 7. Current CNA license in state of Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant assists, supports, and provides direct care to patients under the direction of the licensed nurse. Assists with activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, feeding and ambulation. Obtains vital signs, EKG, phlebotomy and blood glucose. Documents and reports results to licensed nurse. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment. Performs clerical functions including initiating, directing and receiving telephone calls, preparing, printing and scanning various patient reports and medical record information to internal and external departments and facilities.

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.2. Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.3. Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.5. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.6. Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
