Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transit Market Sector Leader for the Central Region to guide transit and rail market strategies, manage client relationships, and coordinate multi‑discipline teams across the Central Region.

The role partners with Regional and Global leadership to drive program growth, staff development, and successful pursuit of major projects, ensuring alignment with HDR values and market needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in transportation planning/engineering with majority in the market sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning or related field.
• If an engineer, hold engineering registration.
• Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning/engineering services.
• Experience in developing and managing client relationships and program/project pursuits.
• Experience in staff development including recruiting and career progression.
• Engagement with industry associations and visibility in the market sector.
• Ability to collaborate with Market Sector Directors, Directors, Regional and Area Managers.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership on multi-discipline projects across market sectors and geographies.
• Lead program growth for transit, intercity, and freight rail sectors and support regional growth.
• Support Global Transit Market Sector Director in setting vision for expanding services and contracts.
