Job summary

Aurora in Pittsburgh is seeking a mission-driven Central Development Operations Team Lead to guide a 24/7 testing workforce, navigate ambiguity in early-stage testing, and create order from complexity while serving as the escalation point for tooling and data integrity.

You will lead Central Development Specialists, become certified on internal Aurora tools, collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations, drive continuous process improvements, and help sustain a strong

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of leadership experience with remote or distributed teams.
• 3+ years in remote assistance, fleet operations, or a high-tempo technical environment.
• Experience leading through change (site launch, software transition, 24/7 expansion).
• Strong judgment and communication for high-pressure decisions.
• Ability to master proprietary software tools quickly and teach others.
• Proven track record identifying bugs or UI/UX gaps and translating to actionable feedback.
• Flexibility for in-office hours and scheduling adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Central Development Specialists supporting scheduling and testing across a 24/7 operation.
• Become certified on relevant internal Aurora tools to support data integrity and testing quality.
• Maintain master-level knowledge of Aurora’s internal toolset and serve as escalation point for complex hurdles.
• Support a safety culture and encourage proactive identification of failure points.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations partners.
• Facilitate and deliver seamless daily handoffs across regions and shifts, managing scheduling and blockers.
• Provide constructive performance feedback through regular 1:1s and document blockers.
• Drive continuous process improvement and lead side projects to enhance development readiness.
• Proactively identify tooling friction or edge cases during testing that could become operational risks.
• Provide daily scheduling support and incident-response coordination.
