Job summary

Aurora seeks a Central Development Operations Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA to monitor and execute development-focused missions for our autonomous vehicle fleet on tracks and public roads.

You will read procedures, provide actionable feedback, onboard into command-center workflows, and collaborate with Testing Program Managers. This role requires on-site presence with potential travel and a 4x10 schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and accurately execute technical test procedures.
• Ability to monitor proprietary tooling for extended periods on a laptop.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the self-driving stack and daily software updates.
• Proactively surfaces questions when procedures/tooling change.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with 5+ years driving history and clean MVR.
• Willingness to pass drug/alcohol screenings.
• Flexibility for day/night/weekend work on a 4x10 schedule.
• Travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Send out scheduled test assignments to field testing team and provide monitoring and remote command support during tests.
• Read test procedures and translate observations into operational feedback for Testing Program Managers.
• Onboard into and refine commercial command-center practices for development use cases.
• Provide structured feedback on feature/tool performance to Testing Program Managers.
• Respond to trigger requests and safely send remote commands.
• Contribute to continuous improvement through triage work and cross-functional projects.
• Escalate complex issues to Vehicle Reliability Engineering with complete documentation.
• Escalate blockers with suggested solutions to close the loop between execution and engineering teams.
• Work as part of a team and represent Aurora with the public.
