Job summary

SpartanNash in South Bend, IN, is seeking a department supervisor to lead daily store operations at Martin's Super Markets. You will ensure staffing, training, and adherence to company standards while meeting KPIs and ensuring product quality across the department.

You’ll manage inventory, coordinate with teams, and execute scheduling and payroll controls, while upholding food safety guidelines and coordinating with store leadership to achieve department goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management.
• Strong leadership abilities with hands-on environment.
• Knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability depending on location is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain department inventory ensuring freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, and weight; store properly.
• Manage a team responsible for stocking, production, and tasks ensuring quality and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with products and store promotions including ads and coupons.
• Communicate and execute weekly Flight Plans per company expectations.
• Manage scheduling, labor control, overtime, and payroll for the department.
• Implement Our Winning Recipe and core values; supervise staff development.
• Develop department goals and forecasts; participate in meetings.
