Job summary

LifeWorks Community Action in Ballston Spa, NY seeks a confident leader to oversee daily Head Start center operations, providing direction to staff and ensuring safe, high-quality early childhood services for children and families.

You will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance with NYS licensing and Head Start standards, manage facilities, transportation, food services and budgeting, and partner with HR and program directors to support workforce development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work or related field required.
• 3 years’ managerial experience with supervision and performance development preferred.
• Familiarity with NYS Day Care Licensing regulations and Head Start standards preferred.
• MAT (Medication Administration Training) certification or willingness to obtain preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily center operations to ensure compliance with Head Start standards and NYS licensing.
• Provide supervision, coaching, and technical assistance to staff; collaborate with HR and Program Director on staff development.
• Oversee facilities, transportation/vehicles, and food services; manage inventory and safety processes.
• Collaborate with Finance and Program Director to monitor expenditures and optimize costs.
• Support families, including diverse caregiving situations, ensuring responsive customer service.
