Job summary

Family Guidance Center in Columbiana, AL is seeking a Center Manager to serve as the educational lead for one or more Head Start centers, guiding school readiness by implementing our early learning system, policies, and tools.

You will supervise center staff, support teachers in CLASS- and curriculum-based practices, help with child assessment, family engagement, and professional growth, and ensure data-driven planning and fidelity across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 2+ years of managerial experience, or a bachelor's in a child-related or business field.
• Experience teaching in early childhood and supervising or coaching.
• Experience managing infant/toddler or preschool programs.
• Experience collaborating with community partners.
• Experience in fiscal management and budget prep.
• Serv Safe Certification required.
• Physical exam and background checks required.
• Travel locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for meetings.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the educational lead for one or more Head Start centers and guide school readiness across classrooms.
• Supervise center staff including teachers, assistants, and cooks.
• Support teaching staff to implement effective practices across CLASS Teacher-Child Interactions, learning environments, curriculum, and child assessment.
• Work with teachers to implement program curriculum with fidelity.
• Work with teachers to implement child assessment systems and analyze outcomes data to tailor planning.
