Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or related field with a minimum of three years demonstrated leadership and/or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Head Start practices and program standards.
• Experience in administration and supervision; office management or related areas.
• Oral and written communication skills to support positive feedback at all levels.
• Must have a valid Mississippi driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily on-site supervision for all staff and volunteers of assigned center(s).
• Inform Regional Administrator of staffing needs and changes immediately.
• Manage attendance and absenteeism; maintain accurate records and conduct conferences as needed.
• Orient new staff within five days; coach/mentor during probation; arrange training as needed.
• Conduct performance reviews and annual evaluations in accordance with policy; develop improvement plans when warranted.
• Maintain staff credentials and progress towards education requirements; support professional development.
• Arrange pre-approved release-time for staff development while maintaining staff-child ratios.
• Lead recruitment activities to achieve full enrollment; monitor wait lists and enrollment data entry daily.
• Assign approved children to classrooms in accordance with class size regulations.
