Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a General Manager to lead a moving and storage center. You will hire and mentor staff, manage inventory and equipment, perform profitability analyses, and ensure high-quality customer care while keeping the center profitable and efficient.

Responsibilities include fleet management, budget oversight, and continuous education through U-Haul University. Weekend and holiday availability is expected; a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or service with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
• Computer proficiency and ability to use business software for reporting and inventory control.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage budgets and staff performance.
• Profit and loss accountability and experience managing a high-volume operation.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care.
• Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
