Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a General Manager to run a moving and storage center. You will hire and mentor staff, manage inventory and equipment, and keep the center profitable and efficient. The role is fast-paced and rewarding, with opportunities to advance and participate in U-Haul education programs.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of management experience in retail or service with P&L responsibility.
• Computer expertise.
• Organizational expertise.
• Retail with profit and loss accountability.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
• Perform profit/loss analyses.
• Hire and mentor new team members.
• Track and itemize inventory.
• Manage the personnel budget.
• Ensure that customers receive the highest quality of care.
• Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
• Clean and monitor the premises, and maintain a secure environment.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
