Job summary

Skilz for Kids in Powell, OH is seeking a KidStrong General Manager to lead the center, develop coaching staff, and deliver key business results such as sales performance and lowering member attrition.

The General Manager will oversee center operations, manage schedules, coach staff, and build strong relationships with families, ensuring exceptional customer service and a thriving center culture.

Qualifications

  • An athletic and/or coaching background with experience working with or coaching kids ages 15 months - 11 years old.
  • Achieve Coach Certification through HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Complete training through LearnUpon as required by HQ Training and Certification team.
  • Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding a variety of topics.
  • Prior experience as pediatric OT/PT is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous experience in management is required.
  • Practical work experience with Google and Microsoft platforms.
  • Previous experience with systems and platforms such as ZenPlanner, LearnUpon, CareerPlug, ADP, and FranConnect is preferred but not required
  • Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and body mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the center’s key KPIs and financials to make informed and responsible business decisions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with KidStrong families that align with our core values and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee center-level initiatives (center maintenance, training, brand consistency, etc.).
  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly cleaning and maintenance of the center; delegate tasks amongst the center team.
  • Manage center-level employee issues and documentation.
  • The typical schedule includes 4 weekday and 1 weekend shifts with hours dependent on center needs.
  • Set and communicate coach schedules using scheduling platforms.
  • Schedule, promote, and sell KidStrong events to maximize center profitability.
  • Maintain flawless lead management by conducting call drives to new and existing leads in the CRM.
  • Responsible for sales and delegating responsibilities to center staff (call drives, trial conversion, event booking).
  • Finalize sales and bookings from online self-sign-up flow.
  • Source and attend local events to increase brand awareness and memberships.
  • Foster a coaching culture and assess Coaches based on KidStrong Coach DNA.
  • Recruit, screen, interview, onboard, manage, train, and evaluate coaching candidates.
  • Ensure paperwork for new hires complies with policy and law.
  • Lead training through the evaluation process and ongoing staff development.
  • Lead center meetings on culture, development, product, and performance.
  • Communicate professionally via Slack and Email; participate in weekly leadership meetings.
  • Coach students with Brain, Physical, and Character development for ages from walking to ~11 years.
  • Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
  • Explain the KidStrong curriculum and its rationale clearly.
  • Demonstrate and implement programming and curriculum elements.
  • Use KS Coaches App to record data (attendance, awards, etc.).
  • Work in a physically intensive environment and move equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Lead monthly center staff meetings focused on culture, development, product, and performance.
  • Spend ~3-5 hours coaching weekly.
