Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a substitute coverage professional to assist in center-based programs and support both licensed and classified staff. You may step in as an Integrated Services or special education paraprofessional, providing instructional and physical support to students with significant needs.

Responsibilities include following lesson plans, assisting with personal care, supervising students, and collaborating with teachers to ensure smooth coverage and adherence to IEPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field is preferred.
• One to two years of related experience is expected.
• Experience with special needs students is preferred.
• Colorado Substitute Authorization is required for hire.
• CPI training is required within 1 month of hire.
• Criminal background check is required for hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute coverage for center-based programs and follow lesson plans.
• Support Integrated Services/special education teachers and paraprofessionals.
• Assist students with personal care and health needs and adapt materials as needed.
• Maintain safe, orderly environment and reinforce school rules.
• Monitor students during activities and breaks and support behavior plans.
• Collaborate with staff for planned absences and coverage needs; attend required meetings.
• Participate in trainings, IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in education, teaching, or related field

One to two years of related experience

Experience working with special needs students

Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable

Colorado Department of Education Substitute Authorization required

Colorado Department of Education Teaching licenses or Special Services Provider License preferred

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 1 month of hire
