Job summary

Poudre School District in Colorado is seeking a substitute coverage provider for center-based programs, stepping in for licensed and classified staff when needed to support students with significant needs. The role involves instructing students per lesson plans, assisting with personal care, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment during transitions and activities.

This position starts at $21.41–$23.98/hour and runs on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
• One to two years of related experience.
• Experience working with special needs students preferred.
• Colorado Substitute Authorization required or acceptable alternative licenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide substitute coverage for center-based programs, instructing students per lesson plans and using provided materials.
• Support Integrated Services/special education staff, adapt curriculum to individual needs, and monitor behavior per plans.
• Assist students with personal care and mobility, ensuring safety and dignity during school activities.
• Maintain safe classroom routines and communicate coverage needs with administrators and staff.
• Attend trainings, IEP meetings, and school functions as required.
