Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy in Katy, TX is seeking a dedicated Behavior Technician. Candidates must hold or be willing to complete the 40-hour RBT training and pass the competency exam within 45 days of hire.

You will provide 1:1 ABA therapy under BCBA supervision to children on the autism spectrum. Responsibilities include data collection, implementing treatment plans, parent training, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be willing to complete the 40‑hour RBT training and sit for the competency exam within 45 days of employment.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of driver’s license and valid car insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if not current within the past year.
• Physically able to perform job tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must be reliable, professional, patient, and culturally competent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Able to record data on mobile devices and navigate digital applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols in the client’s individualized treatment plan built by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training.
• Ensure timely documentation following established procedures.
• Communicate progress with parents and caregivers as instructed by BCBA/BC.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials and assessments.
• Follow safety procedures and report critical incidents.
