Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Research Scientist – Cell Biology & Genomics in Ridgefield, CT. The role involves hands-on mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, functional genomics, and automated workflows to support disease discovery projects.

Responsibilities include performing NGS library prep, tissue/cell dissociation, QC, and sequencing setup, along with DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, and protein analysis. Collaboration with automation, genomics, and bioinformatics teams is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mammalian cell culture and cell-based assay execution.
• NGS workflows: tissue/cell/nuclei dissociation, library preparation, QC, quantification, normalization.
• Bulk RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, or single-nucleus RNA-seq.
• Laboratory automation, automated instrumentation, or high-throughput workflows.
• DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid/protein quantification, and Western blotting.
• Experimental sample tracking, electronic laboratory notebooks, and SOP-controlled documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic disease discovery research through hands-on mammalian cell culture, cell-based assays, functional genomics, and laboratory automation.
• Execute automated cell culture and assay workflows and troubleshoot routine platform issues.
• Perform tissue, cell, and nuclei dissociation and NGS workflows, including library preparation, QC, quantification, normalization, and sequencing setup.
• Conduct DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, protein quantification, Western blotting, and related molecular biology procedures.
• Maintain accurate sample, reagent, experimental metadata, and electronic laboratory notebook records in accordance with SOPs and data integrity requirements.
• Support iPSC-derived cell workflows and collaborate with cell biology, automation, genomics, and bioinformatics teams.
