Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a Research Scientist – Cell Biology in Ridgefield, CT to independently initiate, execute, and troubleshoot routine in vitro and cell-based assays.

The role requires hands-on aseptic mammalian culture, nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western blot, ELISA, transfection, and in vitro assay development with strong documentation to support drug discovery efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Biology or related life science field is required.
• Hands-on aseptic mammalian culture and molecular techniques are essential.
• In-depth experience with RT-PCR, Western blot, ELISA and cell transfection.

Responsibilities

• Independently initiate, execute, interpret, and troubleshoot routine in vitro studies and cell-based/biochemical assays.
• Design and execute non-routine exploratory assays using literature and published protocols.
• Perform literature research and apply scientific principles to develop new experiments and technologies supporting drug discovery.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Develop protocols, procedures, technical reports, and scientific documentation.
• Maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks and experimental records in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulations.
• Support training of technicians and junior scientists and contribute to scientific reports.
• Provide approximately 2–4 hours of weekend support each week for business operations; scheduling is flexible.
