Job summary

Lochner, an Egis company, is seeking a CEI Inspector in Kentucky to perform field inspections, sample and test materials, and approve testing procedures. The role requires traveling to construction sites across the state and maintaining clear inspection documentation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of inspection experience, reads plans and specs, possesses a valid driver license, and communicates findings effectively with engineers and technicians.

  • Ability to read plans and specifications is mandatory.
  • Valid driver license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Performs field inspections and ensures work meets standards and specs.

  • Inspects traffic control and helps contractors maintain safety standards.
  • Documents construction activities and inspection findings clearly and promptly.
  • Operates company vehicle to travel to sites and deliver samples.

Job description

Lochner, an Egis company, is recruiting for a CEI Inspector in the Kentucky market. The ideal candidate will perform field inspections, use material sampling and testing equipment, and approve testing procedures.

Your Impact
  • Performs field inspections and ensures that work meets standards and specifications.
  • Uses material sampling and testing equipment and approved testing procedures.
  • Inspects traffic control and helps contractors maintain workplace safety standards.
  • Creates timely and succinct documentation of construction activities and inspection findings.
  • Operates company vehicle traveling to construction sites or delivering material samples.
Who You Are
  • 2+ years of construction inspection experience – heavy highway/roadway construction experience is preferred.
  • General knowledge of construction techniques and ability to read plans and specifications is mandatory.
  • Valid Kansas driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Good communication and documentation skills – ability to communicate findings or instructions with engineers, other inspectors, and material testing technicians.
  • Ability to use an iPad or equivalent to log daily inspection reports.
  • Travel anywhere in the state depending on project location.
  • Some overnight stays may be required for remote projects.
