Job summary

Lochner is seeking a mid-level CEI Inspector to support Central Texas and surrounding areas. You will monitor field activities, verify lines, grades and elevations, and document daily pay items using Site Manager or Excel.

Qualified candidates have 6+ years of TxDOT roadway/bridge construction inspection experience, a valid driver’s license, and Level 1B Hot Mix and ACI field testing certifications. This role offers hybrid work options where possible and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ TxDOT project inspection experience on roadway/bridge construction.
• High School graduate with state-required certification courses.
• Certifications: Level 1B Hot Mix and ACI concrete field testing.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read road and bridge construction plans.
• Basic computer skills and experience documenting daily activities with Site Manager or similar.

Responsibilities

• Observes and monitors field work to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard field measuring equipment.
• Observes highway work zones and traffic control setups and reports potential issues to supervisor.
• Tests and/or samples materials.
• Experience documenting daily activities and pay items in AWP, Excel, or other software.
• Works under the direct supervision of a Field Project Engineer, Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer.
• Additional responsibilities as needed including working at night.

Experience with TXDOT projects in inspection of Roadway & Bridge Construction is critical.

Who Are You

• Ability to read road and bridge construction plans
