Job summary

Lochner is seeking a qualified individual in Fort Myers, Florida, with 7+ years of CEI and construction experience in DOT projects. The candidate will supervise subordinate inspectors, review contractor activities, and ensure compliance with material specifications. This role requires strong knowledge of construction practices, DOT specifications, and the ability to generate detailed technical reports.   • Willingness to work weekends, nights, and swing shifts as required on assigned projects.
  • Requires progressive work related experience.

  • Conducts inspections of contractors' work quality and compiles documentation.

Your Impact
  • Supervises subordinate inspectors responsible for monitoring work quality and performance
  • Reviews project activities with contractor's field supervision to resolve disputes and other project issues
  • Read and interpret contract plans and specifications
  • Read and interpret construction contract language
  • Possess current material testing certifications as applicable for earthwork, asphalt, concrete, pile driving, drilled shafts, etc.
  • Material testing and documentation of acceptance
  • Inspection of and documentation of contractors quality of work
  • Review/coordinate and prepare responses to project correspondence, RFIs and technical submittals
  • Other duties as assigned
Who You Are
  • 7+ years of CEI and construction experience on road and bridge infrastructure DOT projects are preferred.

  • Requires progressive work related experience
  • Work requires ability to gather and understand technical data for purposes of generating advanced technical reports
  • Requires advanced knowledge of construction practices and principles
  • Must be able to interpret plans, standards and specifications
  • Good understanding of construction specifications and plans
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Must have a working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of DOT specification and standards is required
  • Ability to effectively lead a team of inspectors
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Work Environment
