Empower Rental Group is seeking a CEC Technician in the Austin/San Antonio, TX area. This role combines advanced diagnostics and repairs with sales-focused service, promoting maintenance plans and parts while delivering excellent customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of heavy equipment experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a customer-oriented sales mindset. This on-site position requires a valid driver’s license and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical experience required.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and sales skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality service.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex issues on heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using analyzers and troubleshooting.
• Perform complex repairs on construction, aerial, and earthmoving machinery.
• Provide clear diagnostics, repair plans, and service recommendations to customers.
• Promote maintenance packages, repairs, and parts; upsell follow-up services.
• Maintain safety practices, write purchase orders for parts, and document service activity.

This position combines technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to ensure both operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ideal candidates will be mechanically skilled, self-motivated, and comfortable engaging with customers to recommend appropriate service solutionsResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Diagnostics and Repair:Diagnose complex issues with heavy equipment powertrain, hydraulic, and electrical systems using computer analyzers and traditional troubleshooting methods.Complete complex repairs to construction, aerial, and earthmoving machinery.Conduct detailed inspections to ensure equipment compliance and functionality.Sales and Customer Communication:Serve as a technical resource for customers.Communicate with customers regarding diagnostics, repair needs, and recommended service plans.Promote maintenance packages, repair services, and parts.Upsell and schedule follow-up services.Operational Support:Write and manage purchase orders for repair parts and materials.Ensure all service records and contract documentation are properly closed out and cataloged.Maintains a safe work environment.Performs job functions safely at all times.Participates in all safety meetings.Communicates all concerns or violations to the appropriate manager(s) immediately.Uses the proper Personal Protective Equipment when performing work duties.
