Job summary

CDL Instructor position at Tri Area Trucking School in Freeland, MI is part-time, Monday-Thursday, 8:00-4:30, 24-32 hours per week. You will teach CDL B classes; classes are two weeks long, back-to-back, year-round.

No lesson plans to write; you will follow the program already in place. This in-person role covers classroom, lot, and on-the-road training, with the usual benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent truck driving experience.
• Valid Michigan CDL A license with no restrictions.
• Must have or qualify for a State of Michigan Driver Education Certificate in Truck Driving Training.
• Current CDL DOT Medical Card.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather, with time standing and sitting.
• Able to get in and out of Semi Tractor/Trailers and perform driving duties.
• Patience, flexibility and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Instruct CDL B classes in classroom, lot, and road environments.
• Teach according to the program schedule; no lesson plans to write, follow the established curriculum.
• Lead back-to-back 2-week sessions; role is year-round and in-person.

CDL Instructor: Requirements:

• 2 years or more of recent truck driving experience
