Job summary

Tri Area Trucking School – Ross Education Holdings, Inc. is seeking a part-time CDL instructor for the Benton Harbor, MI campus. In this in-person role, you will teach new drivers in a classroom and on the road, following the established program with scheduled hours.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00–4:30) with two weeks on, two weeks off, totaling roughly 80 hours per month. A CDL A, DOT medical card, and truck driving experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years or more of recent truck driving experience.
• Valid CDL A - no restrictions Driver’s License.
• Current CDL DOT Medical Wallet Card.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather, with periods of standing and sitting.
• Ability to use Ross curriculum and adapt to the program in place.

Responsibilities

• Teach new drivers using your experience so they can hit the road.
• Follow the existing program; no lesson plans to write.
• Work in Benton Harbor, MI in a classroom, on a lot, and on the road.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30 - 2 weeks in a row - then off 2 weeks. So 1 class a month, every 2 weeks - 80 hours/month. Use your experience and knowledge to teach new drivers so they can hit the road!

CDL Inst Qualifications

• 2 years or more of recent truck driving experience
• Valid CDL A - no restrictions Driver’s License

• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather, with extended periods of time standing and sitting
• Must be able to get in and out of Semi-Tractor/Trailers and perform all driving related duties
• Must have patience, flexibility and a willingness to lear
• Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.
