Job summary

Ross Education Holdings, Inc. invites applications for a CDL Trucking Instructor to join Tri Area Trucking School at the St. Johns, MI campus.

This in-person, full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00–4:30, with start dates in the near term. You will teach new drivers, follow the established Ross curriculum, and support student success on campus and on road training. We value hands-on experience, reliability, and a commitment to an exceptional student experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent truck driving experience.
• Valid CDL A with no restrictions, able to drive a manual truck.
• Current CDL DOT Medical Wallet Card.
• Must obtain Michigan Driving Instructor License.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Ability to stand for long periods and move around classrooms and lot.

Responsibilities

• Teach CDL driving courses to new drivers.
• Follow Ross curriculum with no lesson plan writing required.
• Maintain student records and attendance in the classroom and on the road.
• Contribute to a positive, instruction-focused environment.

CDL QualificationsRequirements:

• 2 years or more of recent truck driving experience
• Valid CDL A - no restrictions - must be able to drive a manual truck

• Must be able to obtain a state of Michigan Driving Instructor License
• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather, with extended periods of time standing and sitting
• Must be able to get in and out of Semi-Tractor/Trailers and perform all driving related duties
• Must have patience, flexibility and a willingness to learn
• Sufficient ability to stand for extended periods of time, move around the building and classroom to satisfy student needs and/or facilitate student participation.
