Job summary

Tri Area Trucking School in Michigan is seeking a part-time CDL instructor to teach CDL A/B classes. Sessions are 2 weeks long, with back-to-back start dates; classes occur indoors, outdoors, on the road, and in a yard.

The role requires at least 2 years of recent driving experience, Michigan CDL A, and a valid DOT Medical Card. You will follow an established program with no lesson planning, and work a standard monthly payroll cycle.

Qualifications

• 2 years or more of recent truck driving experience.
• Valid State of Michigan CDL A with no restrictions.
• Must qualify for Michigan Driver’s Education Certificate in Truck Driving Training.
• Instructors must have a current CDL DOT Medical Card.
• In-person teaching in classroom, lot, and on the road.

Responsibilities

• Instruct CDL A/B classes using the program already in place.
• Teach in classroom, practice lot, and on-road sessions.
• Maintain professionalism and safety during training.
• Support students to prepare for CDL exams.
