Job summary

Waste Management is seeking a Commercial Driver with CDL to operate heavy-duty waste collection trucks. You will load, transport, and empty containers to disposal or recycling facilities, while maintaining safety and compliance with DOT rules.

Expect early start times (as early as 3am) and 10-12 hour days, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. Applicants must meet licensing, age, and pre-employment screening requirements.

Qualifications

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or
• 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years and
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located and
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, respond to official questions, and complete records or reports
• Successfully complete pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A with an air-brake endorsement or
• Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B with an air-brake endorsement

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with WM safety rules and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and documents checks.
• Drives to disposal, transfer or recycle facilities as needed.
• Loads and dumps containers, maneuvers tight spaces and residential/ commercial routes safely.
• Communicates route issues to Operations Manager and ensures timely pickups.
