Grace Federal Solutions in Durham, NC is seeking a dependable Transit Bus Operator to provide safe, reliable transportation for students, employees, patients, and visitors within a structured transit program.

This role requires a valid North Carolina CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements, strong safety discipline, and punctuality. You will work a day shift on weekends with some nights and holidays, and you must pass background checks and medical certification.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience operating public transit buses or heavy vehicles.
Valid North Carolina CDL Class B with Passenger endorsement and Air Brake endorsement.
Valid DOT medical card.
Strong understanding of safe vehicle operation and traffic laws.
Professional communication skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

Responsibilities

Safely operate transit buses in full compliance with DOT and traffic regulations.
Follow assigned routes and dispatch instructions accurately.
Conduct detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Complete required logs, manifests, and incident reports.
Maintain clear two-way radio communication with dispatch.
Assist passengers with boarding and exiting as needed.
Respond professionally to service questions and concerns.
Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols.
Attend required safety trainings.
