Grace Federal Solutions is hiring a dependable Transit Operations Clerk in Durham, NC to handle scheduling, routing, and dispatch for campus, medical center, and ADA paratransit services, ensuring safe, timely transport.

This is a part-time night shift role requiring professionalism, punctuality, DOT awareness, and clear communication with drivers, students, and staff. Hours are 5:30 PM–1:00 AM, with occasional weekend coverage and safety trainings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience operating mini vans or larger vehicles.
• Valid North Carolina driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of safety, traffic laws, and professional communication.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate passenger vans and non-CDL buses in compliance with DOT and traffic regulations.
• Follow routes and dispatch instructions accurately.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Complete logs, manifests, and incident reports.
• Maintain clear radio, telephone, and computer communications with dispatch.
• Dispatch transportation and paratransit services for students, employees, and disabled individuals.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting as needed.
• Respond professionally to service questions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and attend trainings.
• Assist in planning and scheduling routes for campus and medical center routes and assigning drivers/vehicles.

Grace Federal Solutions is hiring a dependable Transit Operations Clerk to perform transportation and paratransit (Americans with Disabilities Act/Van Services) scheduling, routing, and dispatching duties within a structured transit program.
This is a critical role serving a healthcare and campus environment. Professionalism, punctuality, and sound judgment are non-negotiable.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate passenger vans and non-CDL buses in full compliance with DOT and traffic regulations
• Follow assigned routes and dispatch instructions accurately
• Conduct detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Complete required logs, manifests, and incident reports
• Maintain clear two-way radio, telephone, and computer communications with dispatch
• Provide transportation and paratransit dispatching when required to students, employees, and disabled individuals daily.
• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting as needed
• Respond professionally to service questions and concerns
• Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols
• Attend required safety trainings
• Assist in the planning and scheduling of transportation routes for the campus and medical center routes and the assigning/reassigning of drivers/vehicles.

Schedule Details

• Primary schedule: Night shift (5:30 PM – 1:00 AM)
• Must be flexible for nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
  Minimum Qualifications
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating mini van or larger vehicles
• Valid North Carolina
• Strong understanding of safe vehicle operation and traffic laws
• Professional communication skills
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Teams
