Job summary

Republic Services in Sauk Rapids, MN is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and then transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off operations. The program includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and a loaner truck to help you prepare for the CDL exam.

• No prohibitions to obtaining a commercial drivers’ license (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete the CDL training program with classroom study, on-route training, and driving experience.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle for safety checks.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and service customers.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and dispose of waste in accordance with safety policies.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and ensure vehicle is operationally ready.
• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
• After CDL, perform driver responsibilities in one of the Company’s lines of business.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
