Job summary

Republic Services offers a Driver Trainee program in which you will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and then transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business. You will complete a comprehensive training program with supported resources to pass the CDL examination and begin a career within our nationwide waste services network.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study, on-route training, and resources to take the CDL exam.
• After CDL, perform Driver responsibilities in one of the company’s lines of business (Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Roll-Off).
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation inspections and ensure safety equipment and vehicle controls are in proper working order.
• Safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and service customers as identified.
• Learn to load, unload, and dispose of waste per company safety policies and procedures.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them accordingly.
• Monitor waste and vehicle condition to minimize downtime and adhere to safety policies.
