Job summary

Republic Services offers a Driver Trainee program designed to train associates to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Trainees will complete a comprehensive program and transition into a Driver role across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off lines of business.

Upon CDL completion, employees will continue to work for at least 12 months and perform required pre- and post-trip inspections, route driving, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study and on-route training.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle.
• Operate heavy/ commercial truck along designated routes and service customers.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers accordingly.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Maintain vehicle readiness to minimize downtime.
• After CDL, perform Driver duties in one of Republic Services’ lines of business.
