Job summary

Swift Transportation seeks an instructor to train and evaluate student drivers toward CDL certification. You may administer exams if certified, and you will teach safety inspections and practical driving skills, guiding learners from range to road.

Requirements include a Class A CDL, state CDL Examiner certification if needed, 2+ years OTR, strong communication, and ongoing education to meet PTDI/CVTA standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years OTR experience required unless state law requires more.
• Must qualify as a Class A CDL driver by meeting company requirements.
• Must have state CDL Examiner certification if administering exams.
• Must maintain PTDI and CVTA standards with ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate student drivers to become licensed commercial drivers.
• Instruct on safety inspections and driving skills (turns, backing, etc.).
• Assess readiness for progression from range to road on a daily basis.
• Administer CDL exams if certified to do so, as needed.
• Resolve student issues and support organizational goals.
