Job summary

Swift Transportation is seeking an instructor to train student drivers toward CDL licensing and to evaluate their readiness for road driving. You will teach safety inspections, maneuvering, and complex driving scenarios across weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years OTR experience required unless state law requires additional years of experience.
• Must qualify as a Class A CDL driver by meeting all company hiring requirements.
• Must have appropriate state certification as a CDL Examiner if tasked with administering exams.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates preferred.
• Must be able to obtain additional endorsements within 90 days of notification.

Responsibilities

• Train and/or evaluate student drivers ensuring they possess the skills to become a licensed commercial driver.
• Instruct on safety inspections relating to potential truck/trailer issues.
• Teach driving skills including turns, curves, backing, and road techniques.
• Evaluate student drivers daily to determine progress from range to road.
• Resolve student issues effectively and support team objectives.
