Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site.

The role requires active faith alignment with LifeWise Academy's Statement of Faith, a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and successful completion of background and drug testing. Employment is non-exempt, part-time, and on-site.

Qualifications

• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith
• CDL license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle required
• Age 21-80; annual CDL license copy with Passenger Endorsement for those above 75
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years
• Background check through LifeWise Academy
• Drug and/or alcohol testing as required (pre-employment, annual random tests, post-accidents)
• Yearly Physician's Statement for drivers with known medical conditions

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director
