Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking a Sanitation Equipment Operator to primarily operate a rear-end loading sanitation vehicle for residential waste collection, yard waste, and related debris. The role may also serve as lead for a small crew and requires operating heavy equipment with safety at the forefront.

Hours: 6:30am - Until Complete. Minimum qualifications include three years of driving experience with CDL and the ability to lift 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Three years related driving experience, operating heavy equipment.
• CDL required.
• Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a rear-end loading sanitation vehicle to collect residential waste.
• Daily inspection of assigned equipment for readiness and safety.
• Lead a crew of two or more, as assigned.
• Perform related manual labor tasks such as lifting containers.
