Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a CDL driver to safely operate frontload and ancillary collection vehicles on designated routes in Houston, TX. You will collect solid waste, dump at post-collection facilities, and maintain vehicle logs and inspections.

You will interact with customers along routes, ensure safety standards, perform pre/post-trip checks, and report issues to supervision. The role requires physical stamina and adherence to company policies in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Requires valid CDL or equivalent trucking experience.
• One year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Must be able to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial frontload or ancillary equipment along routes to collect solid waste and take to post-collection facilities.
• Open container enclosures or gates to access cans; roll 3-4 yard cans for dumping as needed.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections; submit vehicle condition reports.
• Interact courteously with customers along the route and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain site cleanliness around truck and containers; address spills.
• Maintain and submit logs and inspection reports as required by law and policy.
• Maneuver truck using mirrors and backup with care.
• Use maps and GPS to locate service addresses.
• Follow safety standards and lock out/tag out procedures.
