Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Front Load Driver to operate front-end waste collection trucks on designated routes within the Elgin, TX area. The role includes routine inspections, safe operation, and courteous customer interactions to support daily route objectives.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid CDL, have at least one year of driving experience (or CDL school), and demonstrate strong safety awareness while handling waste collection duties in various weather and traffic conditions.

Qualifications

Possess a valid CDL.
Minimum of one year commercial truck driving experience OR CDL school completion.
Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and the public.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend maps and related documents.

Responsibilities

Drive front-load or ancillary equipment along designated routes to collect solid waste and transport to post-collection facilities.
Open containers and access points; operate dumping processes with care.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; submit inspection reports.
Interact courteously with customers along routes and report issues to supervision.
Maintain route logs and vehicle condition reports as required by law and company policy.
Follow safety procedures including lock out/tag out and compliance with safety standards.
Safely operate and maneuver truck in tight spaces and through traffic.
