Job summary

Veit is seeking a CDL-qualified delivery driver to handle roll-off containers in the Minneapolis area. You will deliver and pick up containers, manage billing via an Android tablet, and ensure DOT hours-of-service compliance in coordination with Dispatch.

You will represent Veit on site with strong customer service, maintain equipment cleanliness, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and collaborate with mechanics on needed repairs. Union-based role with Teamsters 120; 8–12 hour days.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED plus six months related experience or training.
• Class A or B CDL license.
• Medical card for operating a DOT vehicle.
• Experience using email and electronic tracking, or ability to learn new computer hardware/software.
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and navigate with GPS.
• Ability to comply with safety precautions.
• Ability to follow Veit safety training and manuals.
• Ability to follow vendor pickup and deliveries.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with on-time dependability.
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety on driving and job sites.
• Ability to learn truck mechanics for automated tarping and proper procedure for manual tarping if needed.
• Excellent communication with coworkers, management, customers.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test.
• 8-12 hour days Monday - Friday with possible weekends.
• Maintain satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up roll-off containers.
• Keep informed of local area road conditions, traffic, and detours.
• Complete work orders on Android tablet for proper customer billing.
• Understand and abide by the DOT hours-of-service regulations and communicate with Dispatch to ensure compliance.
• Positively represent Veit on site and on road with customer service skills and courteous driving.
• Communicate pickup or delivery changes or concerns on jobsite to Dispatch.
• Communicate future jobsite leads to dispatcher or sales team.
• Takes pride in the appearance of assigned equipment by maintaining a clean interior and exterior.
• Performs thorough pre and post-trip inspections and communicates with mechanics to identify problems and schedule repairs.
• Other projects or duties as assigned by management.
