Job summary

Veit is seeking a CDL driver to deliver and pick up roll-off containers in the Rochester area. You will operate with a Class A/B license, maintain safety standards, and ensure proper billing using an Android tablet.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a DOT medical card, and strong map reading and customer service skills. This is a union-based role with weekend potential and a benefit package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required along with six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Medical card for operating a DOT vehicle
• Experience using email and electronic tracking or ability to learn new computer hardware and software
• Ability to read maps, follow directions, and navigate with GPS
• Ability to comply with all applicable safety precautions
• Ability to follow Veit safety training materials and procedures
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with on-time dependability and consistency

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up roll-off containers
• Keep informed of local area road conditions, traffic, and detours
• Complete work orders on Android tablet for proper customer billing
• Abide by DOT hours-of-service regulations and coordinate with Dispatch
• Represent Veit professionally on site and on road
• Communicate pickups or deliveries changes to Dispatch
• Maintain equipment appearance and perform pre/post-trip inspections
