Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, PennDOT in Tioga County, is seeking a CDL Operator to keep roads safe and communities moving. You will operate trucks and other equipment, perform daily checks, and support road and bridge upkeep in a hands-on, outdoor role.

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with travel and overtime as needed. This position requires a valid PA CDL and adherence to safety procedures; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee program or equivalent.
• Graduation from a Commercial Driver’s License Training School or equivalent.
• Equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders and other machinery with daily checks and basic maintenance.
• Perform flagging duties to manage traffic during work activities.
• Clear brush, repair guiderails and clean culverts with hand tools and motorized tools.
• Make field adjustments, perform minor repairs and keep equipment records.
• Follow safety procedures, report hazards and wear protective equipment.
