Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a PennDOT CDL Operator to help maintain safe travel routes through equipment operation and fieldwork. This position is full-time in Schuylkill County, PA, with a 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule and occasional overtime during storm operations.

The role requires a valid CDL, proper certifications, and the ability to perform manual labor tasks. You will work under the Department of Transportation in the Schuylkill County Maintenance Office and must meet the

Qualifications

Successful completion of the Transportation Equipment Operator Trainee Program or equivalent.
Graduation from a Commercial Driver's License Training School or equivalent.
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks, loaders, and other construction or maintenance equipment as assigned.
Maintain required CDL credentials and perform pre/post operation checks.
Perform flagging duties to support safe traffic flow during field operations.
Carry out manual tasks such as clearing culverts, cutting brush, digging ditches, erecting signs, and repairing guiderails.
Make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment and demonstrate proper equipment use.
Follow safety procedures and report hazards or injuries immediately.
