Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to support residential and recycling collection routes in Whiteville, NC. You will operate side-load and rear-load trucks, load waste, perform inspections, and maintain records while adhering to safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a valid CDL, at least 1 year of driving experience, and a high school diploma. The role may require overtime and strong teamwork and customer communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria according to company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a residential / recycling collection truck on assigned route.
• Load waste and recyclables into the vehicle and compact waste.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain route documentation.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor or mechanic promptly.
• Maintain route quality and comply with safety standards and company policies.
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as required.
