Job summary

GFL is seeking a Waste Collection Driver to operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes in North Carolina. You will load waste, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and adhere to safety protocols.

Applicants must hold a Commercial Driver's License and have at least 1 year of driving experience or CDL school certification. The role may require overtime and strict compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection truck on assigned route.
• Load waste and recyclables into the vehicle.
• Compact trash using truck equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections.
• Report mechanical issues to supervisor.
• Maintain route quality and on-time performance.
• Attend safety meetings and follow all safety policies.
