Job summary

Waste Pro in Nashville, TN is seeking a route-based driver to operate refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes. You will supervise helpers, perform pre-/post-trip inspections, and ensure on-time pickups of garbage, yard waste, and recyclables while maintaining a clean vehicle and accurate records.

The role requires a Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record and the ability to communicate in English.

Qualifications

Valid Class A or B CDL for the state of employment.
Clean driving record and safe operating history.
Ability to communicate in English with customers and co-workers.
Customer service orientation and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

Drive refuse collection trucks on pre-assigned routes according to DOT and company policies.
Provide courteous, expeditious service to customers on all routes.
Ensure proper pickup and transfer of garbage and recyclables; may use back doors.
Answer residents' questions or direct to Customer Service as needed.
Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete documentation per Safety Lane/DVR guidelines.
Keep truck clean; wash exterior weekly and inspect under hood and vehicle components.
Assist with loading/unloading tasks and move/empty large bins as required.
Prepare and submit required reports and regulatory documents.
Support other routes or events as needed; may respond during emergencies.
Supervise helpers on the vehicle during assigned routes and enforce safety.
