Job summary

Ideal candidates have a Class A/B CDL and 2 years of waste industry driving experience, with strong English communication and a clean driving record. This is a full-time, on-site position with potential for emergency work responses.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Requires 2 years of waste industry driving experience within the past 7 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT/state requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established route to collect garbage and recyclables.
• Oversees helpers on assigned route; monitors performance and safety.
• Performs daily pre- and post-trip inspections and DVIR as per procedures.
• Maintains truck cleanliness and conducts routine wash and checks.
• Completes required reports and documents for company and regulators.
• Assists with other routes or community events as needed; supports customer service goals.
